My first competitive runs since fracturing my spine at 17. I didn’t really know what to expect other than hoping to come in at 10 minute miles or below. The run was a scenic tour around the lovely Newby Hall Estate above Ripon. It drizzled quite heavily throughout. Accompanied by Victoria, I was very happy with my 53:27 time and celebrated accordingly with Sunday lunch in a nearby Robinson’s pub which didn’t sell Robinson’s as their customers don’t like real ale!
