I don’t normally write too much about my training runs, but I wanted to write a few words about today’s.

Having not run for a couple of weeks due to general fatigue combined with working too hard, packing up the house, looking after stevie puppy and not eating or drinking very well, I thought that it was important to draw a line in the sand.

I’m not too disappointed with my c.10k in 49 minutes. Indeed I think i’ve only gone better once or twice. The start felt quick, with a fastest mile of 7:11 which I think is also an in-run PB. This perhaps helps explain my overheating and slow second 5k. My post-run weight is also probably the lightest I have been since c. April 2008 at 11 stone 10 lbs, and probably puts my bmi back below 25.

So I will take the positives from this and try to prepare well for the Newark half marathon on the 14th. I also think things will become a lot easier in around 6 weeks after the housemove up to Aboyne.
While I don’t write about all of my training runs now, I do keep a log of them under the running heading from the menu above.

Until next time, happy running.
