The Lecht
Welcome to our guide to the Lecht augmented route on Rouvy. Please read on to see details and photographs on the route, route profiles, and our own ride data on this route.
Having lived in Aberdeenshire, we never tired of the route over the Lecht, which is a beautiful climb through the hills toward Aviemore.
The route itself is a fairly persistent climb pretty from the off, with a couple of descents through these rolling hills. The route starts at Cockbridge climbing up to the LEcht ski centre on the pass, with spectacular views of Carn Ealasaid to the left of the picture at times, and a stupendous climb over Hill of Allergue.
The video is a Rouvy AR video, so is filmed in HD, and the picture is stable. The weather is decidedly unscottish with bright blue skies contrasting well with the green grass.
Our only complaint is a very simple one. This route is a beautiful ride from Ballater to Tomintoul and Grantown on Spey - it is equally spectacular from the North, and we should know, we used to drive this every day. We want more Lecht!
