Welcome to the InsideRide guide to the Santuario a Alto de Palmas (ANT-CO) route on Rouvy. Please read on to see details and photographs on the route, elevation profile, and our own ride data.

The Santuario a Alto de Palmas (ANT-CO) route on Rouvy is the longest ride out as part of the Columbia Challenge.

The route starts off at El Santuario, with a long, flat, ride out for the first 37km, including contouring around Jose Maria Cordova International Airport. The route climbs steeply after Sajonia, reaching a high point above El Peñasco, before dropping into the town near Medellìn.

I struggled with this ride a little. Sure it was a fairly pleasant ride, but the scenery did not blow me away, and the grey sky throughout was much less enticing than the blue sky outside. The highlight was the toll booth above Sajonia.

The video quality is a good quality HD video, part of the Rouvy Premium collection. It seems to have been filmed on bicycle, it feels much more responsive to changes in pace than the AR videos, and the video timing much better. Sadly the video suffers from transposed HUD information in the video, which was in part covered by the new AR display - which just felt unseemly.

A decent ride in South America, part of the Rouvy Columbia Challenge, but not one I'm excited about doing again any time soon, and an anticlimax to what was otherwise an exceptional challenge.
