Plymouth Historic Waterfront
Welcome to the InsideRRR preview of the Plymouth Historic Waterfront course on Fulgaz. Please read on to see our thoughts on the route, course profile and images, and our own ride data.
Route Description
The Plymouth Historic Waterfront on Fulgaz is a linear tour of the town's harbours.
The route starts with a tour of Sutton Harbour Marina, cycling amongst the yachts moored in the harbour. From here the route takes to the foreshore, following a route below the Royal Citadel, and heading toward the striking Smeaton's Tower lighthouse. After Smeaton's Tower the route returns to the water, touring the King Point Marina, then the Royal William Yard. Finally the route turns inland, climbing up to the promenade atop the Hoe, finishing back infront of Smeaton's Tower.
The scenery along the route is a sublime blend of blue sky, deep blue sea, and in places bright green grass. The architecture is striking too, dominated by clean white colonial buildings.
The route is largely flat, the only real climb taking place on the climb up to the Hoe at the end of the ride..
The video is recorded by Fulgaz contributor Rob Bennett in super high definition 4K with stabilised picture. Like most all rides in Fulgaz, the quality of the video is sublime, with no handlebars or other obstructions in picture.
