Route Description

The Tissot Challenge - Jura course by gonvil on Kinomap is an ascent of the Col du Grand Colombier, in the Jura massif.

The route starts in the forests above Culoz, and at a starting altitude of around 900m, around halfway up the climb. The first half of the ride is climbing steeply up through narrow forest. Though the blue skies and green fires make a good combination, views are few and far between. If there were any views from here, they would be looking straight down to the Lac du Bourget which we recently rode.

After the second switchback, the ride climbs out onto open hillside, and though views of the surrounding area are few and far between, the vista becomes much more expansive.

As the second half of the climb comes to an end the route arrives at the summit of the Col du Grand Colombier, which is busy and clad with visitors. In this final section the view opens out to provide a few fleeting views of the surrounding area.

The video is recorded by Kinomap contributor gonvil in full high definition with stabilised picture. The quality of the ride has been awarded the "Good Quality" label from Kinomap. We did not experience any synchronisation issues on this ride, save for the hoods being periodically in picture, it is immaculately filmed.

We hope that you enjoy the ride - let us know what you think in the comments box below.
