Mount Buffalo
Welcome to the InsideRRR preview of the Mount Buffalo course on Fulgaz by Peter Berlowitz. Please read on to see our thoughts on the route, course profile and images, and our own ride data.
Route Description
The Mount Buffalo course by Peter Berlowitz on Fulgaz is a long attritious and unrelenting climb into the forests above Bright, Victoria. The route is a long and relentless 7-8% climb, taking me almost two hours to ride, broken only by a couple of areas where the gradient levels a little - the largest of which around the 8km mark..
The scenery is dominated by the rolling forested hills ahead and to either side, with only occasional views to the surrounding peaks, though the vista widens as you reach the higher stages of the > 1000m climb.
I had started the Tour of Bright on Fulgaz before losing Rocco, my Lab/GSD X, very suddenly and unexpectedly, and wanted to complete the events that I had started with him sat by my bike. This was the second and final ride crammed into the last weekend of the event - and easily my toughest and longest ride for some time.
The video is recorded in 4K resolution with stabilised and perfectly synchronised picture. Despite this the colour feels bleached throughout, everything looking a little brighter and lighter than feels natural. It was also difficult to keep ride pace close to filming pace, so it was either filmed by something faster than a bicycle, or somebody much faster on bicycle than us!
We hope that you enjoy the ride - let us know what you think in the comments box below.
