Prettyboy Reservoir Loop
Welcome to the InsideRRR preview of the Prettyboy Reservoir Loop course on Fulgaz by Rick Norton. Please read on to see my thoughts on the route, course profile and images, and my own ride data.
Route Description
The Prettyboy Reservoir Loop course by Rick Norton on Fulgaz is a rolling circuit around the Prettyboy Reservoir in Maryland, USA.
The scenery is a mix of autumnal trees, blue skies and green grass. Surprisingly for a ride that is almost entirely within touching distance of a reservoir, the views to the water are limited to a couple of fleeting glances as the route crosses the water, the best passing under through a fairly utilitarian white steel truss bridge. Also keep an eye out for the Pine Grove United Methodist Church, which is particularly striking against the backdrop.
The route consists of 8 climbs on the circuit, each rising around 40m at typical gradients of around 5%, but maxing out at 15% on one of the climbs. We were on a stuctured workout from TodaysPlan though, so we felt none of that.
The video is recorded in stabilised 4K resolution. As we were riding a structured workout Fulgaz renders the video at 1.0x - we suspect that we would have been much slower than the original recording on the climbs, which can introduced comedic pedestrian movements!
We hope that you enjoy the ride - let us know what you think in the comments box below.
