Todays ride took in the 48km Two Bridges Over The Forth (W), Central Scotland route by Malcolm Surgenor on Kinomap.

The Kelpies

I need to ride on Kinomap more, given that I have a lifetime membership. While the app is very good, there are a couple of little niggles that frustrate me, sending me into Fulgaz or BigRingVR exile every now and again. I’ll probably talk about that in a future post.

I really enjoyed this ride. I used to live in Fife until 2014, and this ride took me right back there, I used to ride a little part of this circuit back then too.

The scenery is great, highlights being the view of the Wallace Monument on the way out of Stirling, over the Clackmannanshire Bridge, and across the canal to the Kelpies at the end. As Scotland goes the weather is pretty good. The profile is broadly rolling, and depending on the power you put down, this route should take you 1h30 - 2h. I did this ride in two halves, dissected by canine naughtiness.

The sky is a little bleached, there is a little pulsing in the video feed, and there is a little more movement than in more recent videos - but a really good ride, surrounded by great scenery - I’ve given 4/5.
