Cwfry Arete by the Table Top Direct (VD)
I was picked up early in the morning by Andy on route to picking up Ian and Paul. We had opted to climb up the Table Top Direct Route (VD) on the Cwfry Arete, following the Grade 3 Scramble from the Table Top to the ridge. It was a really good day and climb, the weather was awesome, and a nutter soloed past us on what can only be described as very loose rock!

Climbing at The Roaches
Climbing with Andy again. Left at about 9am, and was climbing for about 10:30ish. The weather forecast was abysmal for the club’s coach meet to the Nantlle ridge area, so we opted for The Roaches.
First climb was Maud’s Garden, a nice VD with a climb up the slab to a pronounced ledge, followed by a chimney move near the top, and then a move back out onto the face to climb for a further metre or so.

Climbing on Milestone Buttress and Little Tryfan
Had discussed the idea of climbing this weekend with Andy earlier in the week, weather dependent, and until I received a voicemail on Friday night at 10pm, I had thought that it wasn’t going to happen. I left the party I was at around midnight, and headed to the 24 hour ASDA to get some healthy hill food (Mars Bars). After packing the sack for the day, I probably got to sleep at about 0130 for a 0630 start.

Climbing Weekend in Snowdonia/Ascent of Yr Aran
I'm taking it easy on the knee at the moment, as I'm still feeling a little pain within it. With this in mind I concentrated on climbing this weekend. I spent saturday with Steve, George and Chris on Little Tryfan climbing routes that were probably Mods or Diffs. We spent Sunday climbing Hope (VD) on Idwal Slabs. I rather enjoyed both days, although I had been particularly anxoious (even more so than usual) about my first multi-pitch.

Climbing at Stanage
Had a good weekend climbing at Stanage, generally the weather was poor in the morning and bettered during the day. On the Saturday the weather was so poor that we wrote the day off and went to the pub, only for the sun to come out at about 3pm. I, Jonathan, Chris, Sophie and Nigel raced back to the bunkhouse to grab our gear, and after some initial wearines I completed my first climb - a V Diff.
