Felt like death when I woke up, so went back to sleep for a couple of hours, and didn’t get up till about 10 o’clock. The torrential rain from the previous evening persisted until about 11 o’clock, which was better than the forecast. After briefly contemplating climbing I left for Glencoe at about 1130.
I went to Crafts and Things again and had a pot of tea, and an absolutely awesome bacon and egg roll. Another torrential outburst put finished any slight possibility of my climbing today. I decided to walk along Loch Leven instead to Kinlochleven.
I set off in quite heavy rain, which dissipated after about half an hour. Not really much to tell. The views were fantastic, and I had a look at the Ice Factor. I also had a wander around the Aluminium Story exhibition. I bought some supplies in the Co-op, watched the bus go past, and set off on the long road back.
I had got about half way, as far as about Torr Phloda, when two very nice blokes on their way to Fort William decided to pick me up, and drop me off in Glencoe. That was without my even thumbing for a lift.
I had a shower and cooked dinner, but unfortunately I had a slight disagreement with the Highland Midge, and scampered off to the Clachaig for food, and only just in time. I visited a very nice looking chip shop in Kinlochleven – but it was shut!
