I dont think I need to say too much about this weekend (see also29th January 2006). As the pictures pretty much tell the story.
On the Saturday, after recovering oneself from bed, I promptly drove up with Mike and Sarah from Kington YHA and met up with the remainder of our group at New Radnor.
Taking to the hillside we rose gently alongside Harley Dingle to reach the plateau like top of Great Rhos. A trek through the heather soon revealed the location of the trigonometry point. We then proceeded into the forest for lunch, before following the ridge along to the mast on Black Mixen, and to Bache Hill, taking in Little Creigiau on the way. Apparently this is a top on one of John Hipwood’s lists, although I am not familiar with it. We then procceded over Whimble, and descended along Harley Dingle into New Radnor. Here the non-drinking members of the party enjoyed a few pints in a rather nice pub entitled the Eagle.
