The Lakes looked far less intimidating after ten days in Glencoe. Had a very good climb, we followed a track from Seatoller to Seathwaite, and picked up a track there alongside Sourmilk Gill. We followed that around Base Brown and up on to Green Gabled, where we had lunch inside the windbreak. As always I managed to spend my day in a cloud, it was probably the only cloud in the whole of the North of England it was that nice a day!
We set off after lunch and followed the path up onto the summit of Great Gable, where we lost the path somewhat, and ended up hitting the path out about a Kilometre further away from home than the path, and had to endure the horrors of the Tarr Step. We followed the track alongside Styhead Gill past Styhead Tarn to Stockley Bridge, and onto Seathwaite where we picked up the path back to Seatoller. We lost too much time in descent to take home Glaramara as well.
