We left West Bromwich at the usual time, but the weather worsened, and there was ice on the floor at Charnock Richard. I think after this point we were travelling northbound at most at 40mph. The A65 hadn’t been gritted between the M6 and Gargrave. When the traffic infront caused us to stop we were unable to regain traction, and twice had to push the coach up a hill.
Finally arriving in Skipton at 13:30 we were able to take in just the one hill, Sharp Haw, which large entails a pleasant stroll through fields. Much of the forest indicated on the map has been felled, and so access was no problem, with the exception of the snow!
