On the sunday we headed first to Shining Tor, which we ascended from the Cat and Fiddle in somewhat murky weather, before heading off to Gun, which was a stroll across a field from a layby on the road near Haddon (10 minutes!) and then to The Cloud froma carpark on the Timbersbrook Road. The Cloud was a great little hill, with good views over Congleton and towards Shining Tor, and a mirage of interesting inscriptions on the summit rocks. This was also a popular location for local model airoplane enthusiasts we seemed to multiply by the second.
Many thanks go to John for organising a great weekend, to Sue for hosting it, and to t’others for the good company. Cheers.
