We didn’t get going until about 10:30 irnoically despite our rather tactical sleepover at the fantastic Glen Clova Hotel the evening prior. Ascended Driesh via the very steep Scorrie, headed over the plateau to Mayar, and descended along the Fee Burn back to the car near Glen Doll Youth Hostel. The Jock’s road was apparent at times, and this was poignant as I had just read “The Black Cloud” which detailed a group who had strayed from the path near Tolmount, and would ultimately perish in the nearby White Water.
