Jumping off the coach early at J37 of the M6, John Mike and I were on the summit of Lambrigg Fell before the others had even got to Patterdale. In the sun all day we looked on throughout at the cloud covering Helvellyn, and basked in the wisdom of our choice. We also had several good pints in a nice pub at Tebay village before being picked up at the Penrith junction.
