Well I have disappeared for a wee while following the GO33, largely due to a nasty and persistent bout of bronchitis. I seem to have kicked that now, and have just been for my first meaningful run in 6 or 7 weeks with Steve. We ran 4 miles on the Aboyne to Tarland cycle route, on a particularly hilly section. I have had hiccups ever since. Steve hasn’t…but he has barked a lot! We have had a power cut for most of the afternoon here in Aboyne, but everything seems to be up and running now. I have had to adjust my plans for next year as a result of my illness as I am unlikely to be racing at 10km in the next week or so, and it probably isn’t prudent to try. Therefore my next race will be the D33 from Duthie Park in Aberdeen to Banchory and back on the Deeside Way on 17th March, which incidentally is my 33rd birthday. I will post my planned events for 2012 in the next couple of days or so. I have tried out my new Inov8 Terrocs today, and can only say that they are terrific with far better grip, stability and much lighter than the trail shoes I have been using. Here’s to 2012.
Merry Christmas, and have a happy new year.
