Burnley have announced that Iceland international Johann Berg Gudmundsson has rejoined on a one year contract, just a few weeks after leaving the club.

Thereβs a really important game of football today. Really pleased to be here at the Wham Stadium to see Accrington Stanley take on b*!?ard rovers. #accringtonStanley #onStanleyOn #noScotlandNoParty

Leaving London earlier this afternoon, and heading back to Burnley to vote. Hoping that this incompetent self-serving party in government has made itself unelectable for a generation or longer. #generalElection2024 #ge2024

A quick note about setting up a second rss feed on my site for my fitness activities which are excluded from my main feed.

In more cool news, the volume of #Burnley content on @feedle@mastodon.social tripled over the last few days, as my site feed finally made it into the index.

I took advantage of a recent work trip to take a few photographs around Cheltenham Spa Train Station, run by GWR.
The main station is a striking white building, and though the facilities are limited to a coffee shop on the Southbound platform and a conservatory of a waiting room, there is an excellent GCM coffee shop over the road from the station.

Have been testing out the April 2024 data update pack for CM0102 as Stanley - naturally this very kind offer was declined. On Mac (Air M1) using Crossover. #championshipManager #retrogaming #burnleyFC

Spent the evening watching the 2024 WHWR Inspiration Evening Webinar on Zoom.
It's an awfa long time since I last trained seriously for this race, and its an awfa long time to spend running none stop. But I did leave feeling slightly inspired.
Lucy Colquhoun was on talking about her (still standing) course record from 2007. Lucy won the first ultramarathon I ever raced - the Glen Ogle 33 all the way back in 2011.

If Vincent Kompany is going to leave this summer, to wherever that may be, I hope that he goes quickly so that we can move on from what has been a pretty dreadful season. I donβt see any of the (3x!) rumours being debunked, so Iβm sceptical he leads us into next season.

It may be a little quiet in Bolton today. London bound for the League 1 play-off final on the big green bus (which is big, but apparently not green). #bwfc #boltonWanderers #efl

I discovered this abandoned football pitch adjacent to the Leeds-Liverpool canal in Burnley when I first moved here 6 years ago. It is squeezed in to a patch of land between Thompson Park and Bank Hall Park.
Substantial enough to have a covered stand running the width of the pitch, which is fully enclosed, yet long forgotten. Nobody has played out of this ground in all the time that I've lived here. I've not found out who played here, or what became of them.

Photo of the junction of New Hall Street and Abel street in Burnley. When I first arrived here, this entire area was grassed over awaiting redevelopment, the earlier terracing presumably having been cleared. The local community used to hold an amazing bonfire here each November.
