Picture of Caoimhe and myself sat in our van, I'm wearing a Maxime Esteve tee shirt, Caoimhe is not

Take the boy out of Burnley but….

A small podenco in his coat, enjoying his walk in the morning sun

Fearghus features as today's daily dog, enjoying his walk at the park. Caoimhe is less impressed with him.... as he nipped her ear in his dash for water when he got home.

Pointer posing infront of Pendle Hill as the sunset lights the horizon, with a red post-box in centre of image.

Mustang has not had a good day with his heart murmur while I've been at the office today, but he had a nice walk when I got home, and has been a little better since. Seeing the vet tomorrow, selfishly hoping he has a little time left yet, but he is fragile.

I'm sat wearing denims and a checked shirt, with a four week old working cocker puppy on my lap

Thought we’d add some serenity and calmness to our Podenco pack by introducing a working cocker. Meet Ruairidh, who joins us at the end of the month.

Today's centrefold is Professor Mustang, climbing up for a cuddle at almost 14, while Stevie photobombs with his backside.

Three podencos and a Labrador relax on a sofa, the largest podenco is hiding under a sleeping bag in the middle.

It is unusual to find four of our canine children sat on the same sofa as each other. My colleagues were treated to this scene behind me this afternoon.

An old pointer follows a scent on the grass, with the Leeds-Liverpool canal beyond, and Barden Marina in the distance.

Here is Mr. Mustang sniffing around in front of Barden marina today. We were very worried about him last night, but my old man is doing much better today.

German Shephard / Podenco cross princess guarding the living room from her perch on the arm of the sofa.

Caoimhe is in charge back at the ranch, while I make my way South to watch Reading v Burnley.

Mr Mustang just climbed in for a cuddle. He’s been with me nearly 13 years now, and while his murmur has started to play up, he’s still hanging on in there.

Small Podenco modelling a red and black coat with the canal beyond.

Here’s Fearghus out on his first walk in several months today. He’s doing well now, thought not without a fright or two in that time.

Podenco German Shepherd cross, sleeping across the arms of two sofas, her leg dangling between the two.

While I make my way very slowly back to Burnley, Caoimhe has switched off the German Shepherd guarding instinct to get in some rest. How gorgeous?

I popped into Barden Marina with Mr Moo on his lunchtime walk today. We've lived within 400m for over 6 years now, and yet it is the first time that we have been further than the gate. The marina on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, near the former Barden Mill, benefits from Pendle Hill lurking in the background, and I'm also told that the Swan & Goose bistro is very good (I've not been in). #burnley #exploring #leedsLiverpoolCanal
